In Q3 2023, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in the United Arab Emirates saw notable activity across the leading platforms. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 17K in late June and reaching a peak of around 22.8K by the end of September. Weekly active users showed a consistent upward trend, growing from about 88K to 90K over the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride saw a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 12.1K at the end of June and finishing at approximately 8.5K by the end of September. However, the app maintained strong engagement, with weekly active users increasing from roughly 268K to 275K during the same period.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a decline in weekly downloads, beginning at about 7.5K in late June and dropping to around 3.8K by the end of September. Weekly active users also showed a slight decrease from approximately 16K to 13.6K throughout the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides had a relatively stable performance in terms of weekly downloads, with figures hovering around 4.3K at the start and ending at approximately 3K by the end of September. Weekly active users remained steady, ranging from about 42K in late June to 39.8K in late September.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 3.5K in late June and reducing to approximately 2.2K by the end of September. Weekly active users also saw a slight decline, from about 14K to 11.9K throughout the quarter. The app generated modest weekly revenue, peaking at $12 in the last week of September.
